The Bond

The day I met Shelly, about a year ago and, she told me a story. Of the bond she has with Alli. And it was a real inspiring story for me. I hope it inspires at least one of you, the way it has inspired me. And here is Shelly's story.

Shelly is a good friend of mine. Shelly has Epilepsy. Which is a disorder in which it causes your body to have seizures, and she is also a Diabetic, which is a blood sugar disease. She has had these for many years. There are many different kinds of medication you can take, but it's not always going to work.

Shelly is married, but her husband works a lot, and her only child has to go to school. So she is alone a lot of the time, because with her husband working, all the time when he is home he has to rest. Shelly felt lonely a lot if the time. She needed a friend. She has had many friends in the passed, but they would see her have a seizure, they would not know how to take it. So they would make up excuses why they couldn't call her or go any where with her. Having Epilepsy my-self, I know how lonely it can be. It can also be embarrassing. When or if you have one in public. Everyone just stands there looking at you even after it's all done and over with.

Shelly was going through a rough time in her life. She was in and out of the hospital all the time. So she began looking for the perfect companion. One day while Shelly and her family were out shopping. They decided to stop at this pet store. When she walked in. They had a box of puppies. Shelly went over to look. When she bent over, one of the puppies jumped right up into her arms. The owner of the store looked over and told her they were free, that she could anyone she wanted. So she decided that was the one she wanted. She the puppy home and decided to call the puppy Allis.

Oh how they played and played. Then one day out of the blue Allis jumped up in to Shelly's arms and made her fall back on to the couch. and right then she began to have a seizure, and Allis would not move until she use safe.

The last seizure Shelly had, she woke up in the hall way with Alli licking her face to get her up. To this day if Shelly's sugar level is to low or to high, or if she is fixing to have a seizure Alli lets her know by jumping up on her chest to let her know. Alli has never been trained for this kind of thing. So like I told Shelly Alli was put here for her. And now I do believe in miracles. Hopefully after reading this someone else will believe to. So if your ever out and something just jumps right out at you, stop and think for a moment. It might be a sign. The Bond could happen to you. So never lose faith. It could happen to you, just like it did to Shelly.

I hope everyone finds their miracle. The way Shelly did.Shelly's bond with Alii is the strongest bond I have ever seen.
